The entire aft section comprising engine hatch and rear seats
lifts on gas-assist struts to give very clear access to the
engine. The mouldings are curved and sensuous with usual Lewis
high-quality seating and trim. The drink holders in the front
part of the hatch over the transmission are real handy for
those in the back seats.
A
nice touch at the transom was this neatly recessed hot and
cold shower. It uses raw water from the engine's cooling system,
but does the job and has proven popular for warming up when
coming out of colder water after a ski.
The back of the observers seat hinged sideways to give easier-than-usual
entry into the large, carpeted storage area under the foredeck
that gave room-to-spare for skis, boards and safety gear.
Under the observers seat base was the battery where it could
be conveniently checked, plus another storage bin. Webbing
side pockets down the sides of the cockpit held other bits
and pieces.
